WELCOME! This is going to be a GREAT year! I am so happy to have you here at Evans High as you begin your high school adventure! In this class, we will learn, laugh, grow, and work hard -together!

Course Info & Syllabus
English 9 uses curriculum from HMH and offers a web-based platform, so computer access is a plus! Feel free to bring your own laptop if you have one. Homework and writing assignments will be required, from time to time, to be completed using HMH online. We will use Writable quite often in class for timed writing assignments.
You are responsible for your books. You will have an HMH textbook (anthology) and a Sadlier vocabulary book.
HAVE THEM DAILY. You must purchase each one new if you lose them. They are required.
Technology Rules
While we WILL use personal phones and devices for instruction this year, they are to be used for instructional purposes. Phones are NOT permitted in class without permission! You will receive ONE warning. No phones, earbuds, etc.
Parents, please DO NOT text your child during class. It creates unnecessary interruptions to classroom instruction.
