Senior Project

Are you a Community Member interested in serving as a judge? Please check out the links to the left for more information on what Senior Project is and to volunteer to serve as a judge during Boards, March 30th and 31st.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The first step in this process is getting your plan for Senior Project approved by your senior English teacher. When instructed to do so, please complete this link.

 

 

No teacher will establish a due date for any of the major components past the dates below. Failure to meet your teacher's deadlines will result in a 20% penalty in the Soft-Skills category. Please be careful to submit work in a timely manner, so that it is possible for your teacher to evaluate it prior to the end of the marking period. 

 

                     Annotated Bib/Outline/Lit Reviews.......Due dates will be no later than 9/13/19

                     Research Paper Final ....................................Due dates will be no later than 10/18/19

                     Hours Log.................................................................Due dates will be no later than 1/10/20

                     Finished Portfolio.................................................Due dates will be no later than 2/7/20

 

  

The final step in the process is Boards Night, an event during which you will deliver an 8-10 minute speech to a panel of judges from the community. Please click me to register for Boards then check with your English teacher for your scheduled arrival time. Boards will be held on 3/30/20 and 3/31/20 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. You MUST arrive at least a half hour prior to your designated presentation time, in order to avoid a late penalty.

During the 1st 9 Weeks you will submit a Proposal along with one of the following: an Annotated Bibliography, Outline, OR series of Literary Reviews.

(Do not use encyclopedias, dictionaries, blogs, wikis, about.com sites, or pay-for-publication websites!)

Option 1: APA-Style Annotated Bib Template, MLA-Style Annotated Bib Template, Annotated Bib Rubric.

During the 2nd 9 Weeks you will submit a Research Paper

During the 3rd 9 Weeks you will submit a Portfolio and Evidence of Completed Hours

 

1. Portfolio Directions, including how to write the Reflection Essay

3. Letters of Recommendation templates (one from your project coordinator, one from a teacher)

4. Template illustrating how to put together your finished Portfolio

5. Portfolio Rubric

6. Hours Log

 

During the 4th 9 Weeks you will give an 8-10 minute Speech on Boards Nights

Are you an EHS student interested in serving as a volunteer on Boards Night? We encourage EHS juniors and seniors to participate!
