Pick Twelve! in Google Classroom

Pick Twelve!

The justice process begins with voir dire, or the selection of a jury. Typically, thirty to sixty
adults are chosen to appear on a jury panel, and the opposing attorneys take
turns removing people from the panel who they feel will be least likely to
“find” for their clients. They do this by studying the jurors’ information
cards and by questioning them. Attorneys have a limited number of exemptions,
or “challenges,” that they can use to remove jurors. The goal is to find the
jury who will be most sympathetic to their client. Today, you will be simulating
choosing a twelve person jury for both a civil case and a criminal case.

Open the assignment attached to begin...you may work in pairs...

Apple v. FBI and Privacy Protection in Google Classroom

Apple v. FBI and Privacy Protection

Laws are in place to protect and serve the People. However, sometimes that can be debated on how far that should extend. In this video, Rene Ritchie (tech blogger) discusses the case of Apple and the FBI regarding privacy control on mobile devices.

Watch this video and share YOUR thoughts on this topic. How much privacy do you want? Do you trust your information in the hands of others? Do you believe our information is already out there and what purpose is it for this debate?! What laws currently protect you from giving up your device to law enforcement agencies?

Write a paragraph summary by answering the previous questions and share any factual based info that supports your stance.
