Members of the Evans High School Marching Knights Band participated in the 2018 Waikiki Holiday Parade commemorating the 77th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Under the leadership of Band Director Zachary Bradley and Assistant Band Director Anthony Alberti, the Marching Knights paraded down the torch-lit Kalakaua Avenue along Waikiki Beach with military units, local Hawaiian bands, and local officials and dignitaries. The Marching Knights continued their tribute to Pearl Harbor with a performance at the Pearl Harbor Museum & Visitor Center with musical pieces from the 1940s and 1950s. A wreath of remembrance was placed after the performance honoring our fallen heroes. A tribute performance on the USS Missouri Battleship, featuring patriotic and military musical pieces, along with the Evans High School Alma Mater, culminated the event. The EHS Marching Knights were then presented with a United Sates flag flown on the battleship and pins commemorating their performances. During their visit to the Island of Oahu, the band members visited several historical sites, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and hiked Diamond Head State Monument.
