At Evans High School, our Band Staff is dedicated to cultivating a dynamic, inclusive, and inspiring music education experience. With a passion for excellence and a commitment to student growth, our directors and instructors bring a wealth of musical knowledge, teaching expertise, and leadership to every rehearsal and performance.
Mr. Bradley

Mr. Zachary Bradley is a native of Lancaster, South Carolina, and a proud graduate of Augusta State University in Augusta, Georgia, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education. He went on to receive a Master of Music Education from the University of West Georgia, as well as an Education Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership and Educational Leadership certification from Thomas University. Mr. Bradley currently serves as the Director of Bands at Evans High School. Before stepping into this role, he was the Music Specialist at Riverside Elementary School in Evans, GA, where he taught General Music to students in grades K–5 and directed the Riverside Chorus, a select ensemble of fourth and fifth graders. He also previously served as the Assistant Director of Bands at Evans High School for four years. In recognition of his dedication and excellence in teaching, Mr. Bradley was named Riverside Elementary’s Teacher of the Year for 2015–2016. He has also been honored with two Auggie Awards for his contributions to musical theater with the Augusta Players. Under Mr. Bradley’s leadership, the Evans bands have consistently earned Superior ratings in both Marching Band and Large Group Performance Evaluations. His ensembles have proudly represented the Evans community in performances across the country, including trips to Orlando, FL; Washington, D.C.; Honolulu, HI; Malta; and London, England. Mr. Bradley is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Georgia Music Educators Association, NAfME, the National Band Association, and the Atlanta Orff Chapter. He currently resides in Hephzibah, GA, with his daughter Peyton—who is often seen at band events, confidently acting as if she’s the one in charge!
Mr. Tyler Milford

Mr. Milford has lived in the Augusta Area all his life. He is a graduate of Evans High School and is an alumni of Augusta University, where he received his Bachelor's in Instrumental Music Education. While he was in college, Mr. Milford started as the percussion instructor for the GTHS Band of Warriors Marching Band, which he continues to work with today. After graduating, Mr. Milford begin teaching band at Grovetown Middle School in August of 2021. As well as being an active educator, Mr. Milford regularly performs as a professional percussionist, drum set player, and bassist. Some groups he has had the pleasure of working with include The Augusta Players, The Augusta Choral Society, The Fort Gordon Dinner Theater, The Aiken Civic Orchestra, and The Augusta University Wind Ensemble. Mr. Milford has worked and performed with many local and world renowned musicians and is a member of the percussion section in Savannah River Winds.
Mr. Milford is an avid composer, arranger, and writer of many different styles of music. Mr. Milford is an ally for all races, genders, ethnicities, and identities. Mr. Milford has an appreciation for many different styles of music. While in college, he started collecting vinyl records. Some of his favorite bands include, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Mastodon, Metallica, Kendrick Lamar, Thundercat, Funkadelic, and so much more. Aside from his musical endeavors, Mr. Milford's is frequently found section hiking the Appalachian trail, kayaking, and spending his time out on the lake with his girlfriend, Kaitlin, and dog, Blondie.
Mr. Luke Yelton

Mr. Yelton is a proud product of the Columbia County School District, being the Valedictorian of the Harlem High School Class of 2018. He was fortunate to have Alda Wilmoth, Stacey Wade, and Meredith Boyd as band directors in middle and high school. Mr. Yelton was an all-state trumpeter in high school, studying under Kathryn Cheney and Todd Jenkins. Mr. Yelton pursued a Music Education degree at Augusta University, where he was the 2020 Concerto Competition winner, in addition to serving as the Vice President of the Undergraduate SGA in the 2020-2021 term. He completed his student teaching with Mr. Steve Whitaker and the Grovetown High School Band of Warriors. Mr Yelton was previously a math teacher at CMS, during which time he was named the 2023 Columbia County Rookie Teacher of the Year. In his free time, he enjoys serving in his church, training for marathons, and playing with his two Great Pyrenees dogs - Sugar and Winter.
