Scholarships are a great way to help finance a college education. Students can use scholarship funds to pay tuition, purchase books and supplies, and help with room and board. Begin researching and applying for scholarships by the beginning of your senior year. Some scholarships are even open to underclassmen!

Here are a few tips to help get you started:

  • Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and/or the GSFAPP (Georgia State Financial Aid Application)
  • Check the eligibility criteria and deadlines before you apply for the scholarship
  • Ask your employers about scholarships they offer
  • Talk to your school counselor
