Welcome
The 2025-2026 school year will be my 20th year teaching in Georgia Public Schools. I began my career in Gwinnett County Schools and have taught many different subjects and grade levels, including Advanced Placement, Gifted, AP Capstone, Driver's Education, and International Baccalaureate.
Due to some of my positions over the years, I've spent time working in Elementary, Middle, and High School.
My college education took place at Berry College, Georgia State, and Emory University. I was a Graduate Assistant and completed a master's degree in philosophy, in addition to a master's degree in education. I have written curriculum part time both with private companies as well as with the Columbia County School district.
Prior to completing college, I had many diverse jobs to make ends meet, including: heavy equipment operator on a lumber yard, test driver, cook, law firm office manager, Kmart cashier, optometrist tech, golf cart attendant, and one of my favorites - staff "parent" at Murphy-Harpst, a residential treatment, foster care, and group home in Cedartown, GA.
Some of my hobbies are computers, picklebalI, and working on various projects around my house. Music is integral to my well-being so if you have my class, you will likely get used to some (non disruptive) music playing in the background.
I have been married since 2007 to a wonderful and successful woman, and have two children who attend Columbia County schools.
